Last night, I had the pleasure of attending the press night for 2:22 A Ghost Story at the Alhambra Theatre, invited by the lovely Emma for the press launch event. This thrilling production captivated the audience from start to finish, had many of us screaming, and most importantly, left us all on the edge of our seats.
The story revolves around a dinner party that takes an unexpected turn as the clock strikes 2:22 AM when supernatural occurrences begin to unfold.
The cast included - George Rainsford, Fiona Wade, Vera Chok, and Jay McGuiness and delivered exceptional performances, bringing the tension and suspense of the narrative to life with remarkable skill.
Each character was portrayed with depth and authenticity, making their interactions and reactions to the unfolding mystery all the more compelling.
The set design was equally impressive, creating an immersive atmosphere that heightened the sense of unease and anticipation. The clever use of lighting and sound effects added to the eerie ambience, making every creak and shadow feel palpably real.
One of the standout elements of the show was its ability to blend moments of humour with the overarching suspense, providing a well-rounded and thoroughly enjoyable theatrical experience. The writing was sharp and witty, with dialogue that felt both natural and charged with underlying tension.
2:22 A Ghost Story is a must-see production that expertly combines supernatural thrills with strong character dynamics and a gripping storyline.
The Alhambra Theatre provided the perfect venue for this hauntingly memorable performance. I left the theatre thoroughly entertained and eagerly discussing the play's intriguing twists and turns but there is a secret that we must not share!
A huge thank you to Emma from the press and marketing team for organising these tickets, we both spent just as long looking down at our hands when the suspense got too much!
