Book Mail Round-Up 💌

This week's round-up of beautiful book mail!

I'm excited to begin sharing a roundup of the book mail I've received recently. I can't wait to delve into these books and share my thoughts through reviews!

As always, a huge thank you to all the authors and publishers for sending these out to me! 🫶🏻

In A Thousand Different Ways by Cecelia Ahern:

Imagine you could associate every person with a specific colour, each bearing meanings that shape your perception. Imagine you could foresee and feel everyone's mood and intentions through these colours.

This is synesthesia.

Is it a blessing or a curse?

Alice possesses the ability to visualise emotions in colours, navigating life from a challenging family background.

How does one master life with constant distractions? How does one move without fear in society, sensing the darkest intentions in places like a playground? And what if someone with synesthesia encounters a person who reflects no colour at all?

Thank you so much to the author - Cecelia Ahern as well as Tanuja at Harper Collins for sending me the PR package!

Upon A Frosted Star by M.A. Kuzniar:

I was delighted to be informed by Felicia at HQ Stories that I have won a competition for an exceptional book!

The novel is set against the backdrop of an annual event marked by mysterious invitations that appear on the first snowfall, simply labelled "Tonight"’ heralding a prestigious and enigmatic party.

The story follows struggling artist Forster, who, enchanted by the event’s allure and the enigma of its host, embarks on a journey to uncover the identity of the elusive figure. His investigation leads him to an abandoned manor filled with secrets and a cursed woman longing for liberation.

This book has been described as a captivating fairytale, blending elements of The Great Gatsby and Swan Lake.

Thank you so much to the team at HQ Stories for running this competition and picking me as a winner!

Gentlest of Wild Things by Sarah Underwood:

On the island of Zakynthos, Desire is a formidable force, personified and commodified by Leandros, a power-driven descendant of Eros.

When his wife dies under mysterious circumstances, Leandros targets Phoebe, the twin sister of Eirene, who has always managed to evade Desire’s allure. To protect her sister, Eirene makes a deal with Leandros: she will undertake four arduous tasks in exchange for his promise to seek another bride. However, these tasks reveal a deeper connection to Desire and Lamia, Leandros’ enigmatic and secluded daughter.

Lamia, hidden away by her father for protection, forms a bond with Eirene and yearns for the freedom of the outside world. As their relationship deepens, the cost of that freedom becomes increasingly perilous. With a deadly, ravenous presence lurking in the night, Eirene and Lamia must confront the harrowing reality that liberation demands a sacrifice of blood.

A spellbinding fantasy romance by brilliant new author Sarah Underwood, drawing inspiration from Greek mythology and the legend of Eros and Psyche. Thank you so much to the author - Sarah Underwood as well as Emily at Farshore for sending out a copy of the book!
