Book Mail Round-Up 💌

This week's round-up of beautiful book mail!

I'm excited to begin sharing a roundup of the book mail I've received recently. I can't wait to delve into these books and share my thoughts through reviews!

The books in this week's round-up are:

Evil Eye by Etaf Rum:

Raised in a conservative Palestinian family in Brooklyn, Yara always believed that marrying a charming entrepreneur would give her the freedom she longed for. Now, she has a stable job at a local college, balances raising two daughters, and manages the household. On paper, her life seems more fulfilling than her mother’s ever was—so why does it still feel like something is missing?

When Yara reacts to a colleague’s racist comment, she finds herself on probation and required to attend mandatory counselling. Her mother insists that a family curse is the root of Yara’s troubles, though Yara dismisses such superstitions. Yet, she can’t shake the fear of repeating her mother’s mistakes and becoming trapped in the same cycle.

As her well-ordered life begins to unravel, Yara is forced to confront the unresolved traumas of her past, unaware of how deeply they’ll shape not only her future but the lives of her daughters as well.

The Trunk by Kim Ryeo-Ryeong:

Noh Inji, 30 years old and five marriages deep, has never been in love. She works for Wedding & Life’s secretive NM division, which rents out spouses to wealthy clients for temporary, no-strings-attached marriages. Inji's roles involve a wedding, sex, and housework—tailored exactly to the client's desires, with no emotional baggage or legal complications.

Despite pressure from her neighbour, best friend, and a failed blind date to find real love, Inji remains uninterested.

That is, until one of her former husbands, a powerful music producer, requests her back. As Inji delves deeper into this reunion, she uncovers dark secrets about NM’s management and her past, exposing a dangerous, sinister world beneath the surface.

Running From Roswell by Deborah Busby:

On the 20th anniversary of a bizarre and unresolved mystery, the same man who claimed his girlfriend was abducted by aliens vanishes under eerily similar circumstances, right at the same spot outside Roswell, New Mexico.

The story follows two compelling characters brought together by this cold case turned personal: Oliver, a disgraced FBI agent with a tarnished career and a chip on his shoulder, and Amity, a bright but inexperienced rookie in the Roswell Police Department, who happens to be the missing man’s niece.

As Oliver and Amity dig deeper into the mystery, a far more unsettling and earthbound question emerges: where do you turn when the love of your life betrays you in ways you never thought possible?

Thank you so much to the author - Deborah Busby and the team at Bookinfluencers.com for running this book tour.
