We tend to be afraid of the wrong things and overlook the real things we should be afraid of. We need to stop tying ourselves so narrowly to this punitive vision that we’ve got to date in our twenties, find the ideal partner by twenty-eight, and have our first child at thirty-one, otherwise, our life will be miserable.
If someone you spend a lot of time with tells you you’re not worth much, that begins to dent your confidence, no one is perfect.
Conversations On Love is a beautifully written and thought-provoking book that delves deep into the intricate web of human emotions.
Apart from therapy, how can we cultivate kindness for ourselves despite these negative thoughts? Everyone has a critical or anxious inner voice. It is useful to write it, to turn all the " what if? "In "so what is it". A friend or partner can also challenge you when you are neurotic because being able to hear other people's ideas about you - if they come from a place of goodwill - is therapeutic.
Conversations on Love is not just a book to be read; it's a book to be savoured and revisited. It encourages us to pause and reflect on our own experiences and relationships, fostering a deeper understanding of the profound role that love plays in our lives
I’ve loved this book and it’ll be one that I keep on my bookshelf!
P.S. - There is an important lesson in love: no one is too busy to reply to a text message!
