Like many, taking care of my mental health is one of the most important things to me, mainly because it can fluctuate so unpredictably. Working as a nurse within the NHS is hard, there is a constant daily battle of trying to do your best and be the best and help as many people as possible and when you are not looking after yourself and your mind, that can quickly become exhausting.


I’ve been taking part in the Tandem Collective UK read-along for Face Your Fears by Christopher Paul Jones! What a great new way to start the New Year, people love to say New Year, New Me and this is the perfect book to kick start that.


This is a brilliant book that breaks down how to tackle fears and phobias and looks at how they could have come about in the first place. It includes some useful exercises that I will be continuing. I would recommend it to anyone who is tackling or trying to overcome a fear as well as those who enjoy non-fiction and are looking for some daily self-care.
