⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“She's my person, and I am hers, and that's something I've known since the first week we met.”
When I say I did not wait to dive headfirst into book two, I practically ran to my bookshelf to make a start. Off the back of book one - It Ends With Us, we pick right back up with Lily and Atlas and what their story entails with It Starts With Us.
It Starts With Us is told from a multi-POV between Atlas and Lily. Atlas is the guy we have all been rooting for and wanting to know more about from the beginning of the first book and Colleen Hoover finally gave us that opportunity.
We get to see the past, present and future told between Lily and Atlas through old letters, journals, and new letters. I do think It Starts With Us lacked some of the rawness of It Ends With Us and at times, did feel slightly rushed and it could have been rounded better. We do get an opportunity to learn more about Ryle and his explanations even if they do twist your heart, he is overall, as we all know, not the good guy.
I’m not sure if there is a plan for this to be adapted to screen as It Ends With Us and I’m not sure if it would work out well, but reading these books gave me the distraction and serotonin boost I needed and I will 100% be in line with my cinema ticket for the release!
As always with my favourite books, these will both be books to remain on my bookshelf for a long time.
