Wild Houses by Colin Barrett:
As Ballina prepares for its biggest weekend, tensions rise between small-time dealer Cillian English and the notorious Ferdia brothers, Gabe and Sketch.
What starts as a simmering feud soon erupts into violence and a dangerous ultimatum that will change everything.
When Dev answers his door on Friday night, he is confronted by the sight of Doll, Cillian’s teenage brother, held captive by the Ferdias. Thrust into a world of vengeance, Dev is pulled deeper into a deadly game by his violent cousins and a relentless reminder from his late mother's dog.
Meanwhile, seventeen-year-old Nicky, plagued by uncertainty, can't shake the feeling that something has happened to Doll. On a mission to find him, Nicky battles with the ghosts of her past while questioning her place in Ballina and what her future holds.
A dark, intense exploration of loyalty, vengeance, and the choices that define us, this book is a pulse-pounding ride that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Perfect for readers who enjoy crime fiction, psychological thrillers, and coming-of-age stories with high emotional stakes. Don't miss out on this unforgettable journey through a town on the brink of chaos.

Maurice and Maralyn by Sophie Elmhirst:
Maurice and Maralyn is an unforgettable tale of courage, resilience, and the unbreakable bond between two people.
Fed up with their mundane 1970s suburban life, they set out on a bold adventure: to sell their house, build a boat, and sail to New Zealand in search of freedom.
But halfway across the world, disaster strikes when a whale collides with their beloved boat, leaving them stranded in the vast Pacific Ocean.
Alone on a tiny raft, the couple's love is tested in unimaginable ways.
This is a book not only about survival at sea, but about the deeper human condition and how we endure life’s challenges. Maurice, plagued by mental health struggles, found hope in Maralyn's fierce spirit, while she, in turn, demonstrated an extraordinary strength and determination to keep them both going.
Her resilience in a world dominated by men is truly inspiring, making her a character that will stay with you long after the final page.
This is a remarkable true story that captures the power of human connection and the strength we find within ourselves, even in the most hopeless of circumstances. A truly inspiring read.
